Waiting on His FAITHFULNESS

Well...

As many of you know, I was laid off unexpectedly in April. The business was going under and since I was the low man on the pole, I was the first to go.

Anyways... At first, I really struggled with staying home. I am used to working, and while I LOVED my time with Brycen, I worried about bills, money, and the normal aspects of being an adult. I know the Bible says not to worry, that tomorrow will take care of its self, but my flesh is weak! I applied for many many jobs with no luck!!!

And then... 3 months later, a sweet friend told me about a teaching job. (side note, before I lost my job I had looking into going back to school for teaching, but never persued it whole heartedly because I never felt like I receive clarification from God.) Anyways, so the next day I called the school to set up a meeting with the principal for the following Thursday. I also began restudying for my certification test. I took my test the next Saturday... LONG STORY SHORT .. GOD provided a job for me!! I will be teaching Math and Speech for a middle school in Garland.

So if you are wondering about HIS ordained plan for you, please know He does have a plan for you. His PLAN is way better than any plan you can create on your own. Jeremiah 29-13... believe it, commit it to memory...

Thats all for now :)

And We're Walking...

Ok!!! So... I know this blog is well overdue. For that, I do apologize. I would love to tell you I have been way to busy to blog, but it's more like I have been way too lazy to blog.

Just to play catch up, Brycen is a little over 16 months! He weighs about 24 lbs and he loves strawberries and watermelon!! He currently has 13 teeth, and just this morning he has 3 more coming in!!!

But most exciting.....

Brycen has finally decided that he might actually want to walk! He is walking!!!!!! But let me explain something, it is when Brycen wants too. If he sees something he wants, he will walk! If I want him to walk, sometimes he will, sometimes he will not!!! He is so stubborn it is scary. I know he is not lazy, because we moves around like crazy, he is just laid back...

Since it's been so long since I have done a blog, a lot of people might not know that I was laid off April 1st. I am actively looking for a job, but I am not going to lie, I LOVE THIS TIME WITH B!!! I have been so blessed to actually watch him first hand learn to walk and talk! He talks all the time! His favorite word is Ball! He loves balls! Baseballs, footballs, tennis balls, you name it he loves it!  He has learn to say "more" for more food or drink! Just today, he said all done when he finished his breakfast!! He is really started to pick up on words! He is constantly learning new words!! It's so cute to hear him talk! He already has a bit of a hick accent (that comes from Brad) lol!

Speaking of talking, Brycen and Carter both love to talk to each other! Since we have had a few play dates with Carter, I notice them talking more and more to each other.  Audrah and I can't help but laugh when we see them playing!!! They play so well together! They even share their toys and sometimes they even try to share their sippy cups... lol!!

Last week Brad went on a mission scouting trip to Alabama with a few guys from C3 (our church: c3rowlett.com). While he was gone, B would go up to our family photo, point to Brad, and say "Daddy"! It melted my heart!!! He even took my phone and would hold it up to his ear and say "Daddy"!  And when Brad came home, B just kept saying "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy"! It's so sweet to know he really knows who we are and even misses us when we are gone!!

Everyday, I thank God that for chosing Brad and I to be Brycen's parents. It has been such an awesome adventure so far, and I would not change it for the world! He is the joy of our little family!!

That being said, thank you for reading our blog! I promise to write more often!! And if it ever cools off, I will even take B for some new photos :) But this 100 degree temp, does not work well with us!

Brycen's First Birthday!

Ladies and Gents, I have an important announcement!

WE made it through the first birthday party without any wounds! Even though I probably over planned, his party turned out marvelous! He had so much fun, which is all that matters!

Almost all of his little friends came to celebrate with him! Carter and Channing even matched! And all of the little girls who came kept singing some songs by some Justin kid (I haven't heard of him, haha)

Aunt Jill helped take plenty of pictures so I will post some so those who were unable to attend can see how much fun we had! Aunt Audrah & Aunt Kasi took turns videotaping for us too!

My favorite moment of the party was when we had Brycen in his highchair and he would not get dirty in the cake! (Totally my kid, I know) His really smart friend, Carson, went and got him a fork and gave it to him! It was so cute! While Brycen did eat some of his smash cake, he did not eat as much as I was expecting! I think by that point he was so tired he could hardly stand it!

Brycen received many great toys and clothes, and he even got some awesome shoes! Mommy is probably more excited about the clothes and shoes than he is! But he loves all of his toys! I think it is a major decision for him to decide which toy to play with first!

Brad and I are even going to put some of the toys in his closet until he needs them! Although, while we were trying to pick up his closet last night, he kept crawling in his closet after a different toy! We are making tremendous progress in his crawling skills, he crawled all the way from his closet to the living room last night! Brad and I are super excited, even though we need to take some time to move non-Brycen proofed items out of his reach!

Anyways, thanks again to everyone who came to Brycen's first party! Each of you helped to make his first birthday party very special! Like I said before, our family is truely blessed to be loved by such amazing friends and family!
Brad and I are so thankful for those who did attend and make Brycen's party extra special! We  are truely blessed to have such wonder friends and family!

The Big 1!

Since today is Brycen's first birthday, I decided I better sit down and write our first blog!
At exactly 5:20 p.m. Brycen will be 1! Brad and I are not ready for this! It seems like just a few months ago we were at the hospital waiting for his arrival! While this first year might not have been the easiest, it has certainly brought the most joy to us! Brycen FINALLY started crawling on saturday! I will upload a photo if I can figure out how to prove it! Brad and I were so excited!! I am sure we scaried Brycen! He crawled all the way from his room to our room with a little motivation! Now he is into everything. Today, I went to turn a light off and when I came back into the living room, he was in the bookshelf trying to get the picture frame! I guess it is time to move the breakables! I can finally relate to my mommy friends who are having to rearrange furniture and chase their children!
Tonight we are planning on taking Brycen to dinner somewhere! I will upload those pictures later! I will let him have some sort of dessert to celebrate the special occasion! But not too much because we are having his party saturday! I can not wait for his birthday party! I am trying to make sure I am not going overboard but at the same time I want to make sure I have everything! I have ordered the cupcakes and Brycen's smash cake! The goodie bags are ready to go! Now there is just a few things I still need to get!

While this might shock some people, the theme of his party is going to be Texas Rangers Baseball! I am hoping that Nolan Ryan or Josh Hamilton will stop by! (HAHA) All three of us will be sporting new Texas Rangers shirts/ jerseys on Saturday! I am always looking for a good reason to buy new Texas Rangers shirts!

This picture is from the day after the Rangers beat the Yankees!
We love the Rangers!!

Here is Brycen's first ever picture!

And here is a picture from his latest photo shoot!

Isn't he just precious? We think so! I can't believe my baby boy is one today! He has been so much fun this first year and Brad & I both know it only gets better from here (until terrible twos, and trying threes, and those awful teenage years)! We are praying that since he has been such a good kid so far maybe those years will not be so bad...but then again his dad is Bradley Malone... need I say more?? Probably not!
Anyways! I am done with this first blog! Hope you like it, if not keep it to yourself :)
